Folks, I know how each one of us here worked so hard to keep the lefty liberals from taking over the Board of Game advisory commities out in Anchorage and here in Wasilla! But did you guys know that the tree-huggers have found a way to take over the Board of Game without having to COUNT THE VOTES? That's right, just when you thought it was safe.... these cruds are spending all their free time trying to block the appointment of Al Barette. Al was appointed by our Governor, Sean Parnell to the post but he still has to be confirmed by the State Legislators. Read the email below from Rod Arno... the Greenie Weenies are calling in to them whining about Al Barrettes appointment 8 to 1. Anyone the Greenies hate that bad has to be good!
Please call in or use the State Public Opinion Messaging system to add YOUR voice to those of other Conservative sportspeople who support Al Barette for Board of Game!
Comments opposing Al Barrette's confirmation are coming in to the legislatures at a rate of 8 to only 1 in support. The Antis are focused on Al being the one who tipped the scales and caused the "buffer zone" adjacent to Denali to sunset. We have to start sending in messages of support even though the full House and Senate will not meet in Joint Session to confirm all appointments until after next week.
*Al is an active outdoorsman who hunts, traps, fishes, and enjoys just being outdoors (even if it is only to take nothing but pictures).
*Al has 22 years of participation in the regulatory process; F&G Advisory committee, submitting BOG proposals, getting legislation introduced.
*Al has been the Chair of the Fairbanks AC Subcommittee on trapping right up to his appointment to the BOG.
*Al prepares trapping Educational Materials and teaches young and old the art of trapping and conservation.
*Al is not a retiree of any state or federal bureaucracy that is responsible for management of wildlife or habitat essential for sustained-yield management. (Which means Al will consider the perspective of users not just duplicate the mandate of managers, which is represented by agencies tasked with the duty of providing science based information to the board)
*Al is not anti-Alaskan Native, he deals with Alaskan Natives in the fur business and his record on the Fairbanks AC and his votes on the BOG confirm that observation.
I can't say enough how important it will be to have a person on the Board of Game who has been involved in the trapping industry as an individual and not a bureaucrat.
Contact every single State Senator and Representative with your support for Al's confirmation.
Thanks,
Rod Arno
