Mead Treadwell REALLY???

REALLY??  Mead Treadwell for Lt. Governer.  Please rethink this.  He is hardly a constitutional conservative.  He has endorsed Lisa Murkowski, who we all know where she stands, conservative when it favors her at election time and liberal otherwise.  We don't need someone like her in the statehouse, one step from governership.  I'm a new member and I realize not all people will agree all the time on all issues.  I also know you are just giving your recommendation to people, so I and others are always free to choose for someone truly conservative, but wow was I surprised to see that endorsement, you have been so right on on the others, it jumped out like a sore thumb.  Just my opinion.

Yes Tex it was a wise move on CPG's part, and yes hopefully a good lesson learned. The media in Anchorage just barely gives CPG general credibility, and when they can vilify it or any other left wing outfit does, they take that chance every time. This episode feeds right into their hands. But all groups, and all people make mistakes, so hopefully CPG can move on from this and learn. Maybe next time they will allow all members a voice. I know you can't please all the people all the time, but if the majority is screaming to keep looking because there is a problem, it means you should listen. As far as Eddie goes....aksmithy you say he is a conservative, but in your opinion only for his on self. I've met and spoke with Eddie at various events, I've listened to him on the radio, and no he's not some neat suit, shirt & tie kinda guy from some elitist school, with all the right and proper words, but he IS a true conservative, that genuinely seems to care for the people of this state. I like the fact that he's human and has made some mistakes in life, and learned from them. We need REAL people in the state and federal houses that understand the needs and wishes of the man/woman on the street, your neighbor next door, the person in the pew next to you, or whomever. If you know of some time/place/event where Eddie has shown he's NOT a real conservative, I'd really like to hear about it. I believe in knowing as much as one can about any and every candidate so that I can make an informed decision and not let any group or media make it for me.

Eddie? You must be kidding me. What makes you think he is such an upstanding guy. I have known him for 8 years and yes he is conservative but only for his own
selfaggrandizement .

Eddie certainly is the most consistent conservative.

It was a wise move on CPG's part to remove their endorsement of Treadwell and hope this is a BIG Lessons Learned for the Committee. The kicker for me was where the Committee took it upon themselves to cast their initial endorsement on Treadwell without even consulting with all CPG members for their input. This flip-flop decision, without doing the necessary research & verification, has unfortunately put a fair amount of egg on the face of the Committee as well as CPG as a whole. However, this can be a valuable lesson to be learned in all areas and to ensure such actions are not repeated where it could add additional fodder for the left/liberals to suck up & spin.

Eddie called me today. Yes it is true CPG did dis-endorse Treadwell...how embarrassing for him, caught in a lie!

well according to Eddie Burke's site (7-21-10) the CPG has unendorsed Treadwell. I hope this is true, but if so, why does the home page still show the endorsement. I would never tell anyone whom to vote for, but I would hope the CPG would do some good investigation into all the candidates before making and endorsement again. We are looking for truth, that's all.

I agree with both the above comments. CPG made a public statement that they would un-endorse Treadwell if they found out he supported Murkowski...well now is their chance...WHAT ABOUT IT?

I agree with Bigmamas....how can you endorse someone (Treadwell) who endorses someone else (Lisa) that does not believe in your view. How you come to a conclusion to Support Mead Treadwell when he does not have the tea party views. Need to rethink your endorsement here.....

Steve Menard Recall - By and 2 to 1 ratio, Wasilla residents have voted to recalled  Steve Menard. Apparently the voters believe CHARACTER does matter.  It is excpected that when all the votes are counted that the number of ballots cast to recall Menard will equal or exceed the 280 votes he received to elect him into office.  Thanks CPG Wasilla members for doing the leg work to get this recall petition on the ballot.
