Born and raised Irish-Catholic Democrat.  Voted dem one time, the first time I could vote, for Jimmy Carter.  What a huge waste of a vote and a mistake.  In those 4 years I realized I could never believe what the dems believed in.  I had marrried a Vietnam Vet who was still active duty at the time and the way Carter treated our military, and ultimately the failed rescue mission in Iran, besides his domestic policies, it was a welcome relief when Ronald Reagan came along, there was no other choice.  From then to now, having raised 2 children, 3 grandchildren, and 20 years military, I have become as conservative as they come.  Now, I'm so disgusted with the whole state of our country, every day with Obama as president I feel we become even more of a laughing stock around the world.  I honestly have thought of moving from the US, I feel that strongly, but there is no where that is any better.  This next election and the one in 2012 are the most important I believe in my lifetime, we have got to make massive changes in Washington and Alaska.  We truly have to look inwards at ourselves and the dependency we have on the government.   We HAVE to get back to the constitution and the founding principles and as a state, fight with other states to take back our rights from the overwhelmingly large, probably unconstitutional parts of the federal government that are meant to be local.  I'm disabled and not able to get out much, but I can have a voice on the phone or on the internet, and most importantly when I vote, and I will!
